The engine upgrade will also improve optimization, shorten loading times, and is expected to reduce the consistent lag plaguing the current version of the game. The company, however, recently revealed that the UE4 upgrade will continue with a new Blade and Soul version, dubbed “Taedongrok” which translates to “Birth Rock”.Īccording to MMOCulture, the new version will feature better graphics compared to Frontier World while maintaining the “bloomy” visuals that the game is known for. Yesterday, NC announced that they will be shutting down the server on May 6, fueling rumors that the UE4 transition is dead in the water. The new server launched in February 2020 and was specifically made for Blade and Soul Complete, a UE4 version of the game with the addition of several enhanced features. NC’s plans to transition Blade and Soul to Unreal Engine 4 will apparently be pushing through despite the company’s decision to shut down the Frontier World server in South Korea.
